Hi Deirdre If you need to have the variable available in the TOC so you can use it there (as opposed to creating a link or cross reference to it), have you tried importing the variables from the document where it is used to the TOC? It sounds like it may have created in an individual document and one or more files (eg., the TOC) don't have that variable in the master list.
