Hi Alison,

By "stand-alone" do you mean a perpetual -- that is, non-subscription -- 
license? Yes, it is still possible, but Adobe does not make it easy to find the 
option on its website. (Clearly, they'd rather you buy the subscription 
version.) Here are some links:

This is off-topic, but has Adobe suddenly moved Acrobat to the SAAS model 
only-without the option to buy a stand-alone version?

I bought a stand-alone version 2 years ago, but the members of my husband's 
Indexing List can't find this option now.
