Facebook today brought this sad news from Jake Wilson, using Arthur Cantrell's account:
" On behalf of Arthur's friends and family, I'm sorry to report that Arthur died of pneumonia at Ellery House in Castlemaine at 12.44pm on Thursday September 24th. It was quite sudden and fortunately his friend Jenny Peake could be with him. His son Ivor is being well looked after. A funeral/celebration/memorial will be held later in the year -- details will be posted here when they become available. Arthur's personal email account will stop working in the near future, but if you have questions about the Cantrills or their films you can reach me, Jake Wilson, via this page or at jake at jakewilson dot com dot au.
