c'est une bien triste nouvelle. J'ai eu la chance de rencontrer Al
Rees à l'occasion d'une présentation de mes films à Londres chez
no.w.here. Il m'a fait le grand plaisir d'apprécier mon travail.

Rees died at home in London last Friday after a long illness. He was
an inspiring teacher, insightful critic, and elegant writer—his
"History of Experimental Film and Video" has deservedly been
reprinted several times since it was first published in 1999.
He was also a warm and loyal friend.
