Your best bet is to use the official FreeBSD AMI, do your changes, and
build an AMI out of that.
We do this with the help of ansible:
- boot official ami
- install ansible
- download ansible playbooks from S3 to /tmp
- run ansible
- clean /tmp
- build AMI
- ...
- PROFIT
