Well, it isn't as bad as it could be.  pccard sometimes include a
Function ID which can be used to generically attach to a card.  This
will work well for modems, but unlikely well for something else.

Also, the OEM stuff sometimes are sloppy in that they don't always
change the IDs, but do change the CIS string...
