It does leave me a bit confused as the documentation I found (from the Linux world) seems to consistently call for the order I used and have been using for at least two decades. I'm not sure if mate vs plasma has an impact on the ordering. I'll admit that I haven't needed to deal with consolekit for many years... not since gnome2. It seems likely that the new version of consolekit2 has modified command line parsing. Not sure if this is a bug or not.
