I've now upgraded to XFree86-Server-4.2.1_5. dpms still does not work for me: % xset dpms force off ; xset q | tail -5 Standby: 300 Suspend: 600 Off: 660 DPMS is Enabled Monitor is Off Font cache: hi-mark (KB): 1024 low-mark (KB): 768 balance (%): 70 (and I'm looking at the monitor and it is on) My video card is an ATI Rage 128: none1@pci1:0:0: class=0x030000 card=0x7106174b chip=0x54461002 rev=0x00 hdr=0x00 vendor = 'ATI Technologies' device = 'Rage 128 Pro AGP 4x' class = display subclass = VGA Do I need something special in my /etc/X11/XF86Config to make this work? I never had problems on my old system (an alpha with a 3dlabs Permedia-2 based AGP card).
