Thankfully, APM works great on the older Thinkpads. To enable the serial port you'll want to run the DOS 'ps2.exe' utility. You can use the 'smapi' kernel driver and the userland utility ftp://ftp.jurai.net/users/winter/smapi.tar.gz to see if its disabled (likely). I still haven't puzzled out how to enable the serial ports with my utility. -- | Matthew N.
