Saw a review last night of the Areca cards vs the latest 3ware. The areca cards were about twice as fast, but the article says that they are about twice as expensive (or something on that area). :-(

Seems like a good price; the German distributor seems a bit more greedy. They're even more expensive than ICP Vortex S-ATA RAID cards - and definitely not better than those (ICP has yet another advantage - S-ATA and IDE RAIDS are using the same driver).
