I think you mean how to determine the dependencies of a port that is not installed ?

I don't know of a command that will do that but you can look in the Makefile of the port app you want to install to see what the dependencies are. For instance, these are the dependencies for Mozilla. From the list below, its pretty obvious what Mozilla is DIRECTLY dependent on.

BUILD_DEPENDS= zip:${PORTSDIR}/archivers/zip \
freetype-config:${PORTSDIR}/print/freetype2
LIB_DEPENDS= jpeg.9:${PORTSDIR}/graphics/jpeg \
png.5:${PORTSDIR}/graphics/png \
mng.1:${PORTSDIR}/graphics/libmng \
freetype.9:${PORTSDIR}/print/freetype2
