The last S implies the lowest maintance method which just so happens to always be the first one listed above... for example out of the godizillon kernel settings that might marginally improve performence the only one I set in 8-current is IPI_PREEMPTION (as well as removing the debug options).... surely this is simpler then fiddling with indivual settings and/or sysctl's -- Aryeh M.
