I've got an nvidia card and I've got these ticked: $ pkg_info | grep X | grep driver xf86-input-keyboard-1.3.2 X.Org keyboard input driver xf86-input-mouse-1.4.0_3 X.Org mouse input driver xf86-video-nv-2.1.12_2 X.Org nv display driver xf86-video-vesa-2.1.0 X.Org vesa display driver xorg-drivers-7.4 X.org drivers meta-port # cd /usr/ports/x11-drivers/xorg-drivers; make config to set them. (My ports are a bit out of date BTW). You don't need the vesa driver either.
