If you understood how ZFS commits data to disk you'd not be making these statements. Also, if you take snapshots you can just roll back if there is any weirdness at all.

Another important point:

With 24 ZFS mirrors you'd have your data being striped across ALL the mirrors. This will yield much better performance.
