I have used several mobos that had 4 controllers on them. I did't have to do anything but add an HD and turn them on in the bios.
I would have hoped that that was the case here too, but it doesn't seem to be. The new drive is definitely listed in the Dell's BIOS (I set it to "automatic" and on reboot the BIOS recognized its size correctly).
