I quite agree.  The first idea behind the repo was to be able to
"bundle" modified ports so that on can easily pick all of them and use
them on top of the official tree.

For me, the reference ports stays "what is currently in the FreeBSD
ports" and if no complex dependency prevent it, committing changes
directly to the FreeBSD ports tree is definitively an option.
