This gets kind of sticky, though. =( For instance, I work with several Debian-based systems that have a bzgrep(1) (and friends) installed to fill in this gap of GNU grep. See: http://www.unix.com/man-page/debian/1/bzegrep/ For most people like yourself, this is probably reasonable.
