I'm glad that it looks like running it at 100 will solve this. Thanks for the replies. I was probably going to go through all the hassle of getting an Asus board to replace this because I was almost certain it was hardware, but I don't think it's worth it as long as this works :)

I guess I spoke too soon. I was running things in 100 mode all day while doing some things to get it ready for my use. I copied 31GB of data from one drive (ad10) to another (ad9) with no WRITE errors from what I can see. Then I went to use cksfv to check the data against the source. This is what I get:

ad9: WARNING - READ_DMA UDMA ICRC error (retrying request) LBA=157308607
ad9: WARNING - READ_DMA UDMA ICRC error (retrying request) LBA=157308607

Here are the current drives in the system:

ad0: 194481MB <Maxtor 6B200R0/BAH41BM0> [395136/16/63] at ata0-master UDMA133 ad8: 156334MB <Maxtor 6Y160P0/YAR41BW0> [317632/16/63] at ata4-master UDMA133
ad9: 194481MB <Maxtor 6B200P0/BAH41BM0> [395136/16/63] at ata4-slave UDMA133
ad10: 58643MB <Maxtor 6Y060L0/YAR41BW0> [119147/16/63] at ata5-master UDMA133

(They say 133 in the dmesg but atacontrol says 100 for all of them)

Now Is this the problem that was described earlier on in the thread, or is this crappy controllers on the motherboard and I really do need to try to go through the hassle of exchanging it for that Asus board?
