As you are probably aware, Freeciv is one of the top volume GNU OSS translation projects, so being a good translator is most valueable, given the amount and the topic of the text you'll have to translate. If you have technical questions, just ask. In some cases, you'll have to look into the source code to find out what the strings mean. But I suggest you post them here instead, so that developers can add a translator comment to the source.
