I do not recommend working on that one.  Indeed, it may already be gone.
The production code has been changing significantly, and that bug was reported 
while it was in an intermediate state.  There is no point bothering with it 
until production has stabilized.

Correct, as far as it goes.  It is not unknown for people to suddenly appear 
without warning with a patch for some long ignored bug, so it is prudent to 
add a comment that you are working on it.
