I just want to add something to the GPL issue: There is nothing to prevent a GPL'd program to be distributed "combined" with proprietary code. Only the other way around is restricted.

You're welcome, but please note that I won't pack with aPack anything else but the kernel in the ROMDSK binary package. So please don't count on that much! ;-)
There may be special permission to pack and distribute GPL'd code freely with aPack in the future. OK, I've already said too much ;-)
