As my test result, UDMA.SYS is so 'careful' that it won't load if a single bit test fail.
Thanks! I wish this was so everywhere, but alas, there were 1 or 2 testers for whom it was loading but failing afterwards! 1/4 second of test isn't enough to catch all possible errors :(
I've a strange hard disk (Fujitsu) that 'sometimes' load UDMA, working properly.
Although I don't maintain UDMA anymore, you could write me some details about your hardware (especially south bridge or chipset and hard disk model number) - just for my information ;-)
This reminds me of our Bulgarian "policemen in the bus" joke (I can tell it if you want ;-)
Why don't you write down on your homepage? ;-)
Because I'm not a good joke teller, especially in a foreign language :-(
I feel the 'air' around here get a bit tensed sometimes. It's time for a joke.
OK. Let me explain first: In the past we had to buy a ticket in advance and perforate it in the bus. Aternatively, you could buy a bus travel card for one month. The police could travel free.
Two policemen were travelling in a bus. The one asked the other:
"Why do you perforate two tickets?" "Because if I lose one, I have another one." "But what if you lose both?" "Then I have a card!" "But what if you lose it too?" "Come on, we policemen can travel free!" ;-)
