Guys,

sorry for blaming the HTMLHELP project, but this was the program which demonstrated the crashing.

I don't know what exactly it is, but:
MSkernel + FreeCOM XMS-swap don't show the crash
Freedos kernel + FreeCOM non-XMS swap +DOS=HIGH does not show the crash
FreeDOS kernel + FreeCOM xms-swap + DOS=HIGH does cause the crash.

Conclusion: It's not FreeCOM (XMS-swap version works on MSDOS kernel, also tested 4DOS), It's not HIMEM.EXE (also tested MS HIMEM) It's the kernel, not HMTLHELP.

somehow the kernel makes FreeCOM-XMSswap go wrong, and running HTMLHELP makes it worse.

try 2035 + freecom 0.82pl3AK + DOS=HIGH,UMB + MS-HIMEM for example..crash after the "created nn buffers in HMA"

any testing faults or testing methodology? tell me, I need to create some solid evidence.
blaming HTMLHELP was a mistake (but I don't say it's without errors).

I'd recommend using DOS=UMB and DOSDATA=UMB instead of DOS=HIGH,UMB and DOSDATA=UMB.
This causes DOS=LOW
using FreeCOM non-XMS version is also an option, but then you use 80KB instead of 3KB,
and the kernel uses 70KB instead of 16KB (btw, no EMM386 used with these memory figures)
