We used to have a HOWTO-Contribute document. It hasn't been updated in a while, but it's now available at <http://fd-doc.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php?n=FdDocEn.FdContribute> A few suggestions, mostly pulled from that: 1. Look at the FreeDOS Software List <http://www.freedos.org/freedos/software/> and find a utility that needs help, and write code to support it. We could use a compatible Backup/Restore that is under the GNU GPL or a similar free-for-everyone license. The FreeCOM project has been idle for a long time, and needs a maintainer to update it. There have been various requests for the kernel that need fixing. Each of those requires different skills, so pick one that you feel comfortable with. 2. The Freemacs editor needs updating. There are a bunch of fixes that have been collected over time, that need to be applied: <http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/micro/pc-stuff/freedos/files/edit/emacs/txt/fixes.txt> 3. Again, look at the FreeDOS Software List, and find a utility that hasn't yet been converted to support internationalization through the Kitten (or Cats) library, and provide the patches necessary to support it. This will help make FreeDOS available to more users around the world. Hope that helps! -jh ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
