You might do better to use a C compiler for your target platform instead
of C#.
About 25 years ago, I was trying to move off QuickBasic as the only
compiled language I knew, and initially I moved to C++, but I quickly
found that plain old C was more useful for what I wanted and easier for me
to understand, so I just went with C and stuck with that. I've since
written several emulators and parts of a couple operating system projects
- and C has generally been more useful to me.
