While it's easy as cake to do UIs with VBDOS, there's no way to port to anything else.
QBX, on the other hand, is not that different to C; pretty much every single instruction has an exact or nearly exact equivalent in C, or if it's more system-specific, it can be fudged up without much difficulty.
