I would think it would be pretty hard to define "well known and supported", and 
I'm sure there would be some (probably heated) disagreement about what should 
and shouldn't be on that list.  Especially with games, you would probably also 
need some configuration info on what might be needed in different VMs (like 
SLOWDOWN).

Also, this really isn't just limited to games.  As I'm working on some of my 
low-level utility programs I come across VMs that don't work for one reason or 
another.  This is more often the case with DOSBox than a VM that uses a "real" 
DOS instead of a virtualized DOS, but I have problems with various VMs.
