I am not sure what you mean by 'not very useful' here. You have DNS
server authoritative for IPA DNS zone. Are you saying that currently IPA
DNS zone is managed in your AD DNS server and you want to move away from
doing that?

As in the original answer, I'd recommend you to look at RHEL IdM
official documentation. Fedora guide is ancient and should not be used
(we have no control over old Fedora docs and cannot remove them).
You need to install 'ipa-server-dns' (freeipa-server-dns) and run
ipa-dns-install to add DNS server to existing IPA server.
