I think that sounds like a very good idea. I hope that you manage
to find a company willing to do this...
There quite a few big companies that employ people to write open-source
software, like RedHat (www.labs.redhat.com) and VA. I'm sure a working
version of FreeMWare would greatly enhance the value of these guys'
products. Have you contacted them ?
