I would suggest that you get a copy of "The Zope Book" ISBN
0-7357-1137-2. It goes into detail on using ZCatalog and other
things that you will need for the queries.

For PDF generation and display you must have your browser configured
to display PDF's by launching a reader of course.  By default some
reports in FreePM are designed to only write to disk, some only to
display in the browser and some do both.  This was done so that
there are examples of each method for those that choose to extend or
modify FreePM.

The ReportLab pdf generation software has very a very extensive
feature list and anyone wanting to write their own reports should
read the documentation provided with that software.
