If you search the mailing lists you will likely find the solution to your
problem as it has probably been answered already.  In my particular case, ld
could not find the location of the PostgreSQL libs as they were not in the
search path.  Perhaps you should try something to the effect of ldconfig -m
/path/to/your/mysql/lib/dir  -- or setting the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment
variable to your MySQL lib dir.
