I had the same problem, and I finaly chose EAP-PEAP, which I think is more confortable, because there are no client needed for XP and 2K. Furthermore, the config was as easy as possible.
Try it, I don't think there are many differences
Indeed there are differences. TLS auth is based on client side cert, whereas PEAP needs no client cert (only server cert necessary).
