I do agree that GitHub is probably better for the most people, especially
external people that just looked at our stuff on github and wanted to report
an issue.

On the other hand, the GitHub issue tracker might be great but it does not
come with any project management system.

I had setup JIRA + GreenHopper in the first place to have a good system in
place to coordinate the new people that will come through the Open Thin
Client Alliance which was recently publicly announced. For instance, I got
an email from the x2go people that wanted some guidelines on what to read to
get up to speed with the project. Once these new people will want to start
working on something concrete, that'll need more coordination than just
issue tracking, unfortunately.

Here's what could be done:

We stick to the github issue tracker for reporting issues and tracking them.
For project management purposes, we can stick to JIRA + GreenHopper.
Companies are free to use it to create their own list of tasks for their
employees to follow and report progress with. It might be useful for people
who want to do paid consulting work and want an easy way to report their
progress as they work.

What do you think? Any other suggestions? I do think the github issue
tracker is good, it doesn't come with a nice project management system,
unfortunately.

What Every C/C++ and Fortran developer Should Know!
Read this article and learn how Intel has extended the reach of its
next-generation tools to help Windows* and Linux* C/C++ and Fortran
developers boost performance applications - including clusters.
