Here is another technology for syncing trackers:

Simple Defects:  http://syncwith.us/sd/

Github is supported.  JIRA is not mentioned but it is possible to write
your own tracker sync code and add it to SD.

So if there is enough value in syncing the trackers it looks like there
are tools to make it happen.
