https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/wiki However, to use FreeRDP on one Linux pc to connect to another Linux pc the target linux machine will have to at least have xrdp installed. However, xrdp by default I believe uses vnc-server which doesn't give the best performance. To have xrdp and get better performance you would also need to install/build x11rdp which I came to find is not always already available in some/many distribution repositories. But I happened on x11rdp-o-matic<http://scarygliders.net/2012/05/23/the-scarygliders-x11rdp-o-matic-and-rdpsesconfig-hotness-upon-hotness/?goback=.gde_27258_member_117694797>which despite its odd name is actually a great tool that does the following automagically for you: 1. downloads the latest xrdp source code 2. downloads the latest x11rdp source code 3. builds & installs both on your linux system for you Once x11rdp has been downloaded/built/installed when you make a remote connection with freerdp from a client linux pc to a linux pc running xrdp/x11rdp you will find a new option in the drop down xrdp connection menu... one for x11. We installed freeRDP using apt-get. We are unable to get any documents or user guides on how to use freeRDP. We are just trying to get remote desktop going between linux PC's. It's very difficult for some one new to freeRDP to get started without some proper documentation about using freeRDP.
