Hi idealhang, I'm no dev, but here are some notes on your question.
Win 7 is capable of using Multimedia Redirect without K-Lite. You cannot rely on the extension of a movie. For instance two .avi-files can have different codecs. Therefore, the file-format is no criterion for successful MMR. There're a lot of tools to check codec into detail for a video (simplest might be cmdline version of vlc or mplayer). Just compare your files and you will see the difference between a movie which is redirected and another one that is not. There's no player on the client involved, but the client-GPU does the work. MMR works with Windows Media Player only (from the host). VLC, WMP Classic, etc don't grant MMR. Best regards gotsiboon.
