Hi usually when a movie file is streamed on WMP ( freerdp only support) the server side extracts the content and demuxes it. After demuxing it sends the GUID to the client so that the client should be able to understand and get synchronized with the server. After which the redirection happens. if client is not able to understand the GUID then no redirection and only remote desktop being displayed. In your case may be the container is same (rather the file format) but there is difference in the content. If I have to debug this I will enable the DEBUG_DVC and capture all the debug prints which includes GUIDS and try to find the difference between the 2 files. I will also use some free video analyzer to understand about the content.
