I compiled the fdmdv2 program for an e-machines box running Linux Mint. While
the compile went smooth, attempts to get the program running ended badly.
Perhaps this problem has been fixed in the latest svn release, maybe not.

ALSA lib pcm.c:2217:(snd_pcm_open_noupdate)  Unknown PCM cards.pcm.rear
ALSA lib pcm.c:2217:(and_pcm_open_noupdate)  Unknown PCM cards.pcm.center_life
ALSA lib pcm.c:2217:(snd_pcm_open_noupdate). Unknown PCM cards.pcm.side
ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:957:(snd_pcm_dmix_open)  The dmix plugin supports only
playback stream

And it terminates. I am sure that changing the sound card would fix this
roadblock. But it also raises a point about specifying the minimum hardware.
Surely someone has considered the possibility that a future user could run into
a road block on a pre compiled version of fdmdv2.

Anyhow, happy New Year to the folks on this list. May the year 2013 be even
better than last year.
