Hi David,

Like Stephen I think it's a problem worthy of solution. You should be 
able to combine sub-devices of any device, and those systems that 
support stereo microphones should be able to run FreeDV on one sound 
interface and a wiring harness.

I've dealt with it in a different fashion, which is to design a generic 
driver framework for FreeDV in the freedv-server program. One should 
also be able to select WebDAV as their sound interface to the user, etc.
