If you are using linux, the 0.98 version of freedv with 700 mode support can be built using the fdmdv2-dev and codec2-dev svn code.

If you have a local copy of fdmdv2-dev from the svn, the "Quickstart 1" guide in the README.txt will get up and running pretty quickly. If you intend to build the -dev code frequently, you may wish to install the required versions of the dependent libraries seperately (i.e. sox, wx widgets, portaudio) so that you can simply use the "Quickstart 2" process in the README, and speed up your building, as you will be avoiding the downloading and building of these packages with each compilation attempt. Compilation is quite quick if you have the necessary dependent packages already built.

Yell out if you are having trouble building it.

Hello Glen,

1) codec2-dev/README has example command lines for freedv_tx and
freedv_rx, and src/freedv_rx.c is another resource.  I just realised
they were out of date so tweaked the README a bit ("svn up" to get the
latest README).

They build as part of codec2-dev.

I'll leave (2) to some one else....
