Hi David I have to apologize! After extensive timing tests, I have found out, that in the case of 8000 I made an error with the buffer size counting when not in sync. This produced the forementioned irregular sounds. The times for both methods (7500 and 8000) are absolutely comparable, as your results confirm.
So now, I will work only with 8000. No need for 7500 any more. I will make further tests with Helmut, dc6ny, to find out more about the behavior of 700c.
