I know there was a recent change in the modulation levels. Maybe the old 700 and 700b levels were set too high? In any case, concentrate on getting the modems levels set for best interface to your rig. Your voice audio levels can then be adjusted so as to not overdrive the vocoder, and make pitch difficult to measure (background noises, etc).
