good point, this is all available online. But you got to know
what you are doign I guess to use right noise levels, the right
minimum angles, the suitable antennas, power SNR etc

sooooo antenna and noise dependent..... what's happenign right now
is the MUF is being squashed down against the ALF (absorption
limiting frequency) , and at low freqs, low antennas at low angles
SUCK.
Alan, as for WHyalla to Adelaide, it's hard but it is possible 2 - 4
MHz with dipoles at each end, but usually not whips at each end.
that's why they put HF bases in the middle of nowhere of course....
