I was thinking you might target it as the LPCnet project.

as you know you can use a C1+ at half the money and one quarter  the input power  to do all the other codec2 modem/workloads...

the S922X chip is a 12nm node, seems to do better under thermal loads compared to the rk3399 (28nm I think)

although in the rk3399 is no slouch. Odroid have alwayts been great with their OS and driver support and excellent community.

and it is 7 to 20V input. and comes with the chassis...

the only odd thing about the N2 is that at the monent there is a 64 bit kernel and 32 bit user land.

If the SW you are trying to run compile is written for 64 bit then that is going to be trouble I think.
same goes ont ghe Rasp Pie 3 I think.

Thanks Glen for the update,

Odroid N2

*Software support*

*Linux*
Two Ubuntu 18.04 LTS images are available with Kernel version *4.9.162 * LTS as of today. This kernel version will be officially supported until Jan, 2023.

The mainline Linux kernel is at 5.0.9 and this is running *now* on my lowly Banana Pi M2 Berry boards.

Linux berry2 5.0.9-301.fc30.armv7hl

The Odroid N2 board price is well within my "budget".

In the end, all I want is a portable, low power box to run FreeDV in 2020 and any subsequently developed modes.

Digital Repeaters very much in my mind.
