Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: music Group: 1.6.0 >Status: Pending >Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: TC Wan (tcwan) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Detached Audo Player behavior changed from 1.5.x Initial Comment: In Freevo 1.5.x, the detached music player was available as a menu option in the track listing directory menu. This has now disappered. The default behavior in 1.6.0 is to enable detached mode once I exit a track listing directory. I have a visualization program running (mplayervis), which continues displaying its graphics after the music player has been detached. How can I control whether the player will be detached or stop playback upon exiting a track listing directory (aka similar to 1.5.x)? Currently I had to disable the detach plugin altogether. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Duncan Webb (duncanwebb) Date: 2006-10-29 10:42 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=104395 I've found what the problem is, the code that handles mplayervis was not in the new dispatch.py. A fix has been applied to r8500 in rel-1-6 Eventually, mplayervis works! So I can test it :) The src package is very bad, it uses a precompiled static library for the libgoom and the tests in configure don't work. Good thing too. grep -e '^model name[[:blank:]]\+: Intel.\+ 3 CPU' /proc/cpuinfo 2>&1 > /dev/null if [ $? == 0 ]; then ARCH="-march=pentium3 -mcpu=pentium4" fi ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: TC Wan (tcwan) Date: 2006-10-29 02:09 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=554959 The version of pygoom was what I built using the sources specified previously.Goom was included inside. Sorry, I don't know the version, the src directories wasn't really clear regarding which version it was. http://freevo.sourceforge.net/fedora/5/RPMS/pygoom-0.1-1_fc5.i386.rpm http://freevo.sourceforge.net/fedora/5/SRPMS/pygoom-0.1-1_fc5.src.rpm The mplayer version is 1.0pre28 (AFAIK), from FreshRPMs about 4-6 months previously (probably not the latest release). I don't know how mplayervis work, it's just enabling the plugin, and the rest is automatic. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Duncan Webb (duncanwebb) Date: 2006-10-28 08:58 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=104395 Some more information in needed: Version of pygoom Version of goom (if not included) Version of MPlayer MPlayer command line to display a goom picture Anything else this must be done, such as images. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: TC Wan (tcwan) Date: 2006-10-28 07:27 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=554959 The pygoom package came with its own version of goom, I think. I don't have a separate installation of goom AFAIK. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Duncan Webb (duncanwebb) Date: 2006-10-27 18:07 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=104395 This is a bit of a problem, pygoom doesn't work with goom2k4-0, mplayer requires a patch for the video filter goom. So reproducing the problem is a bit difficult. So I can only say can't fix this problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Duncan Webb (duncanwebb) Date: 2006-10-27 16:32 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=104395 I think that the solution is simple, have mplayervis see the event DISPLAY and EXIT and then it should stop. However, I'm having trouble working out which version of goom to use, the only version that I've found so far is goom2k4-0, which doesn't work with pygoom-0.1-1_fc2. Can you give me pointers to the correct versions. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: TC Wan (tcwan) Date: 2006-10-27 03:58 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=554959 I tested the new build r-8476, the detach logic is still buggy. When I detach the audio player, the visualizaer (mplayervis) is still playing. Detaching should stop the visualizer process. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Duncan Webb (duncanwebb) Date: 2006-10-22 05:21 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=104395 See #1577673 detach too much. I was hoping that the author of the original patch would do something about this. This change does seem to be causing some confusion. So what I've done is to change the method of detaching back to using the DISPLAY event. In rel-1-6 r8445, please test if this works for you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=446895&aid=1582048&group_id=46652 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
