Category: kaa.metadata Group: 2.x svn Status: Open Resolution: Accepted Priority: 3 Private: No Submitted By: TC Wan (tcwan) Assigned to: Dirk Meyer (dischi) Summary: mmpython can't detect VCDs properly on insertion Initial Comment: I'm not sure if this is a 'new' problem, but mmpython hasn't been able to detect VCDs upon insertion (when browsing the DVD-ROM drive in Freevo) for quite a while now. I believe it started since switching to lsdvd for DVD parsing. When browsing an inserted VCD disk in Freevo, it just says "No Titles" or something similar. This is tested against SVN mmpython on Oct 25. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: TC Wan (tcwan) Date: 2006-10-31 09:17 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=554959 Ok. I've tried mmpython's mminfo, and here's the attached log. The first VCD (Karaoke) is detected as a video disk, while the second (children's video) is detected as a data disk (!) I guess newer VCDs are formatted as data disks, with a specific subdirectory structure. I've provided the directory listing for the second disk for reference. I'm not sure if it is possible to play the avseq??.dat files directly from a mounted VCD disk. My CD-ROM failed to read it, but it might be due to a hardware problem (it's rather flaky when reading CD-ROMs) rather than a filesystem limitation. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Dirk Meyer (dischi) Date: 2006-10-30 00:53 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=33647 lsdvd has nothing to do with VCD detection, it was only used for DVDs. What does 'mminfo /dev/cdrom' say when you insert a VCD? And please try kaa.metadata next, it is the new home of mmpython. Details at http://www.freevo.org/kaa. You only need to install kaa.base and kaa.metadata to get an updated mmpython. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Duncan Webb (duncanwebb) Date: 2006-10-28 14:11 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=104395 I won't do anyhing about this because in rel-1 mmpython has already been replaced by kaa.metadata and kaa.metadata does not use lsdvd. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=446895&aid=1586063&group_id=46652 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
