If it breaks at 1024x768 then it is something else, pygame runs fine at
this resolution. In fact, just as a test, I changed my geometry in
freevo.conf to 1440x900 and ran freevo (using the standard blurr skin),
it worked just fine with these settings.

I can't imagine what the problem is, why should it be trying to draw
something off screen.
