I never heard of pmount before, and if this was a hard dependency of kaa.beacon, I'd expect some appropriate error message or setup.py warning? But I do not really understand how this is supposed to work in practice, for example I can happily mount removable devices from within KDE via the media:/ ioslave (and hal); I once discovered that this was done via a program "halmount" in SuSE 10.2, but there does not seem to be anything like that on my recent Gentoo systems (and IIRC it wasn't even in SuSE 10.3). Anyhow, I installed pmount, reverted my fstab change, made sure I could "pmount /dev/cdrom" as user and started beacon again, same thing. :-( [1] [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Programming/Freevo-hacking/kaa -> beacon-daemon --fg 2008-10-06 21:18:02,239 [ERROR] callback(192): mount: Konnte /dev/hdc nicht in /etc/fstab oder /etc/mtab finden This is with: [I--] [ ] app-misc/hal-info-20080508 (0) [I--] [ ] sys-apps/hal-0.5.11-r1 (0) [I--] [ ] sys-apps/pmount-0.9.16 (0) -- Ciao, / / .o. /--/ ..o / / ANS ooo
