Yes. It is too much eye candy and I find the keyboard/lirc usage very
confusing. Adding some nice backgrounds should be easy for us since we
could use the same sources XBMC uses (e.g. thetvdb)

Agreed. When I saw XBMC I thought: WOW, I want this. But after using it
for two evenings I started writing the mail about the future of Freevo
2.0. I prefer Freevo. ;)

That would be nice. To get a better understanding what the gui code
needs to support, I need a prototype of the interface. When you have
something, we could discuss it here before I start enhancing the gui code.
