Hi,

with default settings freevo uses mplayer to watch tv, check your
local_conf.py file. And deactivate the tvtime plugin so it will use mplayer.
If you see this in your config file :

plugin.remove('tv.mplayer')
plugin.activate('tv.tvtime')

then remove this 2 lines
